Terms of Service

Last updated: May 31, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Scape (“the Software”), provided by Scape Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Scape”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. Software License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software on macOS devices for personal or professional use. This license is subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable subscription requirements.

3. Purchase Options & Subscriptions

Scape is paid software. A valid license is required to use it; we do not currently offer a free tier. Available options are:

  • One-time ($9.99) — one month of updates. Every version released during that month keeps working forever, with no auto-renewal.
  • Pro ($9.99/month) — unlimited watchdogs, playbooks, tables, custom toolkit, embedded terminal, dev servers, and early access to new features.
  • Supporter ($19.99/month) — everything in Pro, plus a direct line to the founders, roadmap influence, and debug features.

Perpetual fallback. Any version released while your license is active continues to work after your subscription ends or your one-time month runs out — you simply stop receiving new releases.

Subscription features. Certain features — Playbooks, Tables, Agent Rendezvous, and Encrypted Chat Rooms — require an active subscription (or one-time-purchase month) and become unavailable if your subscription lapses, even on versions you have already unlocked. Your data is not deleted; access resumes when you resubscribe.

Subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time, and your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing and features with reasonable notice.

4. Third-Party Services & Dependencies

Scape relies on and interoperates with services operated by others. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms:

  • Your AI coding agent. Scape runs the agent you install (such as Anthropic’s Claude Code or OpenAI’s Codex) under your own account and subscription. You are responsible for maintaining that subscription and complying with its provider’s terms.
  • Licensing is provided by Keygen, and payments by Stripe.
  • Encrypted chat rooms and Agent Rendezvous use a relay we operate that forwards only end-to-end encrypted traffic.
  • Your automations. Playbooks can issue HTTP requests and run shell commands that you author. You are solely responsible for the commands you run and the data those steps transmit.

5. License Validation

The Software validates your license through our licensing provider (Keygen) and requires a valid internet connection to do so. Tampering with, circumventing, or attempting to bypass the license validation mechanism is prohibited.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Software, including its design, code, documentation, and content, are owned by Scape and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, service marks, or logos.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Copy, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software
  • Circumvent or disable any license validation or security features
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL SCAPE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR THEORY OF LIABILITY. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Software ceases immediately. You may terminate by uninstalling the Software and canceling any active subscription.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Software will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware.
